Karma is the newest member of Roberta’s collection. Karma is a beautiful little girl and so shiny since her shed this week. She is a California kingsnake (Lampropeltis californiae) and is nonvenomous.

The king part of their name refers to propensity to eat other snakes including rattlesnakes. The king snake is immune to rattlesnake venom.

She enjoys pinkie mice here but in the wild she wouldn’t turn away lizards, snakes, rodents or other small critters.
